Beginning Monday, February 2, 2009, a portion of the intersection of 10th Ave. North and "A" Street in Lake Worth will be closed to vehicular traffic. Crews will be installing new underground utilities in the area which necessitates this closure. Homes and businesses on "A" Street north of 10th Ave. North will not have access to the intersection. Vehicles wishing to get to 10th Ave. North will be detoured to 13th Ave. North and then to "C" Street, "D" Street or "E" Street. This closure is expected to last for one week. In addition, traffic throughout the 10th Ave. North construction zone has been lowered to 25 mph.

This work is part of The Lake Worth Community Redevelopment Agency's (CRA) 10th Avenue North Gateway construction project. Once complete the project will feature new brick pavers, landscaped medians, new lighting features, new mast arms, pedestrian benches, neighborhood entry walls and a resurfaced roadway. In addition, all overhead utilities will be undergrounded and all existing water and sewer lines will be upgraded in order to provide enhanced dependable service to customers. The scope of this project is from1-95 east to Dixie Highway.
