4th of July Announcement from the City of Lake Worth

The City of Lake Worth's Independence Day festivities begin Friday, July 2nd with Party in the Plaza, taking place in the Lake Worth Cultural Plaza from 6:00-10:00pm, featuring live music and fun for all ages. On July 4th all are invited to take part in Tropic Fest. Admission is free and festivities will take place from 11:00am - 10:00pm in Bryant Park. Tropic Fest will be kicked off with the Great American Raft Race starting promptly at 11:00am on the Bryant Park Boat Ramp. The event will feature local music talent including an Elvis impersonator and a mix of jazz and pop music. Food, drink and craft vendors will be available throughout the day, and a large water slide will be set up to help children of all ages beat the heat. Tropic Fest's grand finale will be a traditional 4th of July fireworks display beginning at 9:00pm.
There will also be a "Diggin' the 4th" Volleyball Tournament on July 4th from 10:00am - 4:30pm at the Lake Worth Beach. The event will feature live music from several local bands, for additional information on the event please logon to http://www.digginthe4th.com/.
A free 4th of July Picnic will take place from 12:00 noon - 4:00pm in Old Bridge Park featuring hamburgers, hotdogs, veggieburgers, cookies, and watermelon. A fishing tournament will take place during the picnic, and the winner will be announced at 1:00pm. All are invited to participate in this great event!
The Lake Worth Boat Ramp will be closed on 6:00pm on July 3rd and reopen at 12:00 midnight on July 4th to make way for the July 4th festivities.
