City Manager Meeting - 90 Day Review

In late 2009 the TRNA invited the City Manager to join an Association meeting and speak with the residents of Tropical Ridge.  At the time, the City Manager was requesting to only meet with Association leaders instead of addressing entire organizations.  In response, the Association Membership devised a list of nine items of importance.  The original list of items was presented to the City Manager on October 23, 2009.  After this initial meeting with the City’s Manager, the responses given were publicized to the Association membership, the City Manager and the City’s Commission.

After Mayor Varela was sworn into Office, November ‘09, he took interest in issues being circulated via email between TRNA residents and the City Manager.  Mayor Varela asked to speak with these residents along with the TRNA Leaders to see if the topics in question could be resolved amicably.  Once again, the nine items were presented and discussed during this meeting.  Again, the Association’s Leaders documented and distributed the Mayor’s responses to the City’s Leaders and the TRNA Membership.

On February 10, 2010 the TRNA met again with the City Manager for a 90 day review of the nine items presented in October ’09.  For this discussion, the TRNA listed the initial requests, the responses given by City Leaders since the initial requests, the actions taken in regards to each issue and the final resolution where necessary.  After our meeting the responses given by City Leaders were thoroughly documented and are now available for public review.  I ask that you read this document in its entirety and feel free to follow-up with your thoughts or suggestions.

Thank you for being a concerned and involved neighbor.
