Next Crime Prevention Walk - Mango Groves

posted May 2, 2011, 10:15 AM by Ryan Anderson
Dear neighbors and friends,

Our next Lake Worth NAPC Sponsored Crime Prevention walk is scheduled:

5/28 from 10am until Noon - starting at the vacant lot across from North Grade Elementary School - 824 North K Street. There is plenty of parking there.

For those of you who have not been on these walks we would like to explain items that are goaled and accomplished.

1.  These walks provide a visual message to help discourage crime with in the area's that we are walking....This method is used through out the United States and is a proven method and a step in the right direction to engage neighborhoods to become more aware of their own surroundings through community participation.

2.  These walks provide the neighborhood leaders a chance to meet and greet their neighbors and promote solidarity and a more neighborly atmosphere with in the community and improves neighborhood pride for everyone with in the neighborhood.

3.  These walks provide an opportunity to identify neighborhood issues, unsafe properties, and discuss game plans for improvement and a chance to "idea share."

4.  AND these walks bring citizens from all parts of the city together regardless of race, religion, political affiliation or personal beliefs for a common goal of encouraging each other to be a positive participant in improving the quality of life for all and taking these experiences back to their own neighborhoods.

With this we invite not only participants from all of Lake Worth but our representatives from our community Partners OCR and County Representatives as well to feel free to participate in any or our Monthly Sponsored Lake Worth NAPC Crime Prevention Walks.  This is a model that can be shared through out our county and remember.....A neighborhood is only as strong as the people who support it and become, in small to large ways, engaged in its health and improvements.
Sincerely,
Robert Waples
