·          Yard Of The Month

o    This month’s TRNA Yard of the Moth award goes to Propheta Florexil and her family that reside at 610 North A Street.  The YOTM sign has been posted in her yard and a photograph of their beautiful yard will soon be available on http://www.tropicalridge.org.

 

·          Upcoming Crime Walks

o    Friday May 8th, 2009 at 7:00pm

o    Saturday May 16th at 6:30pm

o    Sunday May 31st at 6:00pm

o    Friday June 5th at 6:00pm

o    All crime walks will begin at the First Church of the Nazarene, located at 1422 Lucerne Avenue.  Please invite your neighbors!

 

·          Properties to Watch

o    705 North J Street – This property’s resident is suspected of vandalizing our neighborhood.

o    414 North B Street – Resident is wanted by PBSO for various crimes.  Report any suspicious activity no matter how minor to give police the opportunity to review inhabitants.

o    232 North E Street, #4 – Suspected drug dealing resident.  Report any suspicious activity no matter how minor to give police the opportunity to review inhabitants.

 

·          Code Enforcement

o    210 North D Street – Property has chickens which are bothersome to neighboring residents.  Call code Enforcement at 561.586.1652 or send an electronic complaint by clicking here.

o    201 North E Street, #2 – Windows boarded up on apartment with children residing inside.  Call code Enforcement at 561.586.1652 or send an electronic complaint by clicking here.

 

·          PBSO Updates

o    Deputy Martin Kimberly is now a certified bike patrol officer.

o    There are officers patrolling all Lake Worth residential areas 24 hours a day now.

o    Road blocks are to be setup this month throughout city by PBSO and FHP to catch drunk drivers.  These blocks will be set up in residential areas as well as commercial ones.

o    Graffiti hotline is very effective!  Make sure to call for every incident of graffiti you see.  The number is 561.688.4278.

o    Lake Worth’s C.O.P. program (Citizens On Patrol) is ready for more applicants.  There are four C.O.P. cars and a boat you can be trained for.

 

·          Miscellaneous

o    Joel Morganstern mentioned that he has a code officer (CAT) working in his unit.  Joel will be assisting TRNA with the two properties listed under code enforcement this month.  Please make sure to email Joel and remind him of this at MorgansternJ@pbso.org in conjunction with leaving a formal complaint with the code enforcement department.

o    Joel Morganstern will have a CAT officer at the June TRNA meeting to discuss code issues with us.

o    Lake Worth Pier re-opening on Saturday May 9th, 2009.

o    CRA is exploring idea of putting up neighborhood signs defining the various association areas in the city.  The TRNA would require approximately 10 signs at $500 each.  TRNA would be applying for financial assistance from the CRA to pay for these.

 

·          Raft Race

o    This year’s annual Lake Worth Raft Race is being held on July 4th, 2009 again.

o    The TRNA, last year’s winning team, is looking for volunteers to take part in building a raft and rowing it in the race.  Please email ryan@tropicalridge.org to volunteer.

o    If you can’t volunteer your time you can also loan or donate items that are required for the race.  We will need life vests and oars.
