Yard of the Month

  • This month’s TRNA Yard of the Month award goes to Guillermo and all of the tenants who reside at 225 North F Street.  The YOTM sign has been posted in his yard and a photograph of their beautiful property is currently posted on http://www.tropicalridge.org.

Upcoming Crime Prevention Walks

  • Saturday October 10th at 6:00pm.
  • All crime walks will begin at the First Church of the Nazarene, located at 1422 Lucerne Avenue.  We’ll meet in the parking lot on the corner of 2nd Avenue North and D Street.  Please invite your neighbors!

PBSO Updates

  • Lieutenant Barr of the Palm Beach Sherriff’s Office (PBSO) told us that the undercover detail in Tropical Ridge that was started back in June has made over 300 arrests so far and that the program in continuing its efforts in the area.   The Lieutenant also fielded questions from the meeting’s attendees as well as spoke to some concerns related to two recent incidents, a stabbing and a shooting, that both occurred outside of the TRNA boundaries last month
  • Deputy Sherriff Hussey gave some crime statistics for the month of September.
    • 1 Missing Persons
    • 2 Stolen Vehicles
    • 4 Gang related field investigation reports
    • 1 Business burglary
    • 12 Residential burglaries (4 residences were accessed via an unlocked door or window)
    • 2 Vehicle burglaries
    • 2 Sexual assaults
    • 2 Robberies to persons
  • As you can see from the crime statistics above, 33% of residential burglaries last month occurred to homes that did not have locked doors or windows.  Please make sure to lock the doors and windows to your home.  This prevents the bad guys from breaking in, stealing your stuff and hurting the ones that you love. 

Race for Public Office

  • The TRNA offered the opportunity to all of the Lake Worth candidates running for public office to speak to the association and tell us about their platform.  This was a great success!  Five of the six mayoral candidates and all four of the city commission candidates were in attendance.  Our thanks go out to these candidates for further educating us on your tenets.
  • Election Day is Tuesday November 3rd, 2009.  Please note that the TRNA is not a political organization and does not endorse any candidate running for office.

Halloween

  • Last month Amy Saleeby from One Good Deed Marketing & Events spoke with the association.  She is looking for volunteers to assist in the Halloween production her company is putting on in our downtown area this year.  Amy is looking for people to assist with building giant puppets for the parade on Friday October 30th, people to dress up and be in the parade, small business owners who would like to participate in "Freaky Friday" events and much more.
