Alley Cleanup
The alley cleanup held on Saturday, March 27th was an incredible success!  We had a wonderful turnout for all three of the planned events.  On Friday, a number of residents walked Tropical Ridge going to door to door telling people about the cleanup, the need for residents to maintain their alley way, and invited them to participate.  On Saturday, almost 30 people, including Deputy Sheriffs Mike Mahoney, Dan Jozwick and Commissioner Scott Maxwell, joined the effort to clean up the alleys from C to F Streets between 3rd and 7th Avenues North.  Afterward, Mr. Javier del Sol hosted lunch, which was kindly donated by various neighbors, in his beautiful back yard.  The Neighborhood thanks everyone who donated food, water, materials and time for this event.

Graffiti Paint-Out Party
The TRNA had a very productive and fun Graffiti Paint-Out Party on February 13th, 2010.  Eleven volunteers from the neighborhood including two PBSO officers, Deputy Mike Murray and Deputy Daniel Jozwick,  came out to pitch-in and clean up our neighborhood!  Please see the slide-show below for some before and after shots.

Thank You PBSO!
A custom stained glass medallion, created and donated by McMow Art Glass, was donated to the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office, District 14 at the TRNA's December meeting on December 7, 2009. Please click here to see a detailed photo of this piece of art.

Sheriff Deputies are always on hand to join association members on crime walks regularly held throughout the 90 square blocks of Tropical Ridge. At every meeting of the association, deputies report crime statistics and offer advice to residents on keeping their homes and families safe. Even in their off duty hours, deputies have joined residents in neighborhood clean-ups and events.

The TRNA recognizes all of the hard work the PBSO does and we appreciate the level of dedication they have shown in our community.

In attendance for this special dedication were Mayor Rene Varela, Commissioners Golden, Maxwell, Mulvehill and Jennings as well as PBSO's Captain Silva and many other officers who help Tropical Ridge and the rest of Lake Worth fight crime and blight every day.

Happy Thanksgiving!

On November 24th several hundred turkeys were handed out to families in need by Quetel “Que” Osterval, the owner of Ugoprint in the Cyber Business Center in downtown Lake Worth and the organizer of this event for the past four years. In attendance were Mayor Rene Varela, Commissioner Scott Maxwell, Retha Lowe, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office and many volunteers.

The TRNA donated $500 to this charitable organization and it’s estimated that our contribution helped feed 50 families this Thanksgiving. We wish everybody involved with this food drive and the residents of Lake Worth a wonderful Thanksgiving!
